What is Bushmills Irish Whiskey Made From?
Bushmills starts with local water from the River Bush, naturally filtered through basalt rock. The other core ingredient of the Bushmills’ recipe is malted barley to create an exceptional single malt.
This is then distilled in small batches and blended with grain whiskey. The entire Bushmills process – distillation, maturation, and bottling, happens on the 400-year-old Bushmills distillery, a Blarney stone’s throw away from the Giant’s Causeway.

Bushmills American Oak Cask Finish
Part of the new cask finish range, Bushmills American Oak Cask Finish spends the end of its maturation in double-charred American Oak barrels for enhanced oak and vanilla notes, the perfect blend of Irish Whiskey and American Bourbon flavours.
Tasting Notes:
Aroma: Toasted oak, honey biscuits and warming vanilla
Taste: Sweet dessert-inspired flavours of toffee apples and vanilla – rich and mellow
Finish: A blend of oak and maple syrup on the finish
Perfect Serve – Irish-American Bourbon Manhattan
You Will Need:
• 60mls Bushmills American Oak Cask
• 30mls Martini Rosso Vermouth
• 3 dashes Angostura Orange Bitters
• Garnish with a Luxardo Cherry
Method:
Add all ingredients bar the cherry in a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir for 30 seconds
Strain all ingredients into a chilled coupe glass
Garnish with a sweet Luxardo cherry
Bushmills Whiskey Caribbean Rum Cask Finish
This Irish Whiskey is finished in fine oak Caribbean Rum casks for added tropical notes and a new dimension of mellowness.
Tasting Notes:
Aroma: Honeyed apples and toffee with exotic pineapple and coconut notes
Taste: Sweet and mellow, with notes of brown sugar, caramel and a hint of guava
Finish: Lingering brown sugar on a soft finish
Perfect Serve – Blood & Caribbean Sand
• 30mls Bushmills Whiskey Caribbean Rum Cask Finish
• 30mls Martini Rosso Vermouth
• 30mls Heering cherry liqueur
• 30mls orange juice
• Orange twist for garnish
Method:
Add all ingredients to a shaker with cubed ice and shake until the outside of the shaker is cold
Strain into a chilled coupe glass
Add an orange twist and garnish with the orange peel
Bushmills Classic Irish Blend
A flagship Irish Whiskey, this traditional signature blend combines Bushmills’ original single malt with a lighter grain whiskey. Enjoy the layers of flavour neat, or pair with sweet apple juice, lemon and ginger for a modern classic.
Tasting notes:
Aroma: Caramel, almonds and white flowers
Taste: Creamy mouthfeel with vanilla, cocoa, oak and spices
Finish: Lingering sherried sweetness with dusty cinnamon
Perfect Serve – Apple Bush
You Will Need:
• 60ml Bushmills Classic Irish Blend
• 30ml Lemon Juice
• 30ml Re’al Ginger Puree
• Apple juice, to top
• Sliced apple, to garnish
Method:
Add cubed ice, Bushmills, the lemon juice and ginger puree to a cocktail shaker and shake until the outside of the shaker is cold.
Strain into a highball glass filled with ice cubes
Bushmills Black Bush
Bushmills’ premium expression, Black Bush, is a carefully crafted blend of malt whiskey sweetened with just the right amount of grain whiskey, which is then married and matured in former Oloroso sherry & bourbon casks. We believe this is the perfect Bushmills for an Old Fashioned.
Tasting Notes:
Aroma: Dates, honeycomb, and cedar
Taste: Peach, grape, and dried berry with hints of molasses and oak
Finish: Oily and full-bodied with lingering sherry sweetness
Perfect Serve – Black Fashioned
You Will Need:
• 60mls Bushmills Black Bush
• 10mls Giffard Gomme syrup
• 2 Dashes Angostura Orange Bitters
• Soda, to top
• Black cherry, for garnish
Method:
Add the Bushmills, bitters and syrup to a mixing glass filled with ice
Stir for 30 seconds then strain into a rocks glass over three large ice cubes. Garnish with a single black cherry
