Angostura have been making their iconic Bitters since 1824, and yet the Orange Bitters are only the second edition ever made despite being released as recently as 2007.
The precise recipe for Angostura Orange Bitters is a closely guarded secret, but we do know that it is made with juicy sun-ripened Caribbean oranges and a host of complex herbs and botanicals.
With its rich fusion of bittersweet citrus and fragrant spicing, Angostura Orange Bitters are the perfect addition to any cocktail recipe made with orange zest or using orange peel as a garnish. They will pair especially well with rum and whisky-based cocktails, while also adding great flavour enhancement when used in savoury sauces and seafood dishes.
Perfect Serve – Create the ultimate Negroni with Angostura Orange Bitters:
- 30ml gin
- 30ml sweet vermouth
- 30ml Campari
- 2 dashes Angostura Orange Bitters
Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice and stir well. Strain into a tumbler filled with fresh ice and garnish with a twist of orange peel.
