Every year, Malt Master David Stewart MBE hand-selects a number of casks to marry in Balvenie’s Tun 1509 to craft a special limited blend. For the seventh iteration, Mr. Stewart selected: ten Doublewood Sherry butts, seven Sherry hogsheads and four American oak barrels. The contents of these barrels were then married for 3 months in Tun 1509 before this creation was bottled at 52.4% ABV. Only 8000 litres of this exquisite whisky were ever produced and each bottle comes with a visualisation chart detailing its complex flavour profile. With dried fruit and ginger on an oaky nose, a rich palate of oaked vanilla, toasted hazelnuts, honeycomb and orange peel and a malty sweet finish, this exclusive whisky was made to be savoured.
