November Cocktail of the Month: Gingerbread Sour

Though the looming Christmas period promises cosy nights and hot chocolate with marshmallows beside a log-burning fireplace that whisks you away, we know the reality has less tinsel and snow, and more rain and sleet.

To help you get through the last minute panic-filled Christmas shopping, we recommend you let yourself indulge a little in our cocktail of the month: Gingerbread Sour.

Dating back to the Frost fairs where market traders would sell you a gingerbread biscuit and a hot gin tipple. This sour will get you feeling the warm, fuzzy Christmas spirit in no time.


  • 50ml Burleigh’s Signature Gin
  • 25ml lemon juice
  • 25ml gingerbread syrup
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 dash orange bitters
  • Fresh ginger (to garnish)


  • Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and dry shake
  • Add ice and shake again
  • Double strain into a chilled glass
  • Fresh ginger
