Cosmopolitans, quite easily once of the most famous cocktails out there. Associated with dancing, clubbing and laughing and joking.
For National Cosmo Day, here at VIP, we’ve decided to take a look into the history of once of the world’s most famous cocktails.
According to sources, the origin of the cocktail is often disputed. Some say a bartender came up with the drink and others say it is a variation of another cocktail with Cointreau added.
It is not so much the story of where it originated, but more the story about how the cocktail became so famous in the industry. The cocktail was hugely influential in the character of Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City series where the drink was her signature cocktail. The stiletto heels, tight dresses and martini glass was definitely a look that swept the world.
But why is it so popular? Well, it was quick for bartenders to make, it was light, pretty looking and classy all at the same time. With celebrity influences as well, the Como has rightfully earned a day of the year for the celebration.
Whatever the story, the show-stealer cocktail most certainly catches everyone’s eyes.
